My 7 Favorite Travel Pieces

It’s been a long time since any of us could think about traveling for spring break, but with the vaccine doing its job–it’s feeling more and more like a warm vacation is a real possibility.

In the spirit of getting out of town again, I’m sharing some of my favorite pieces for traveling today.

Roller suitcase: I have taken this little Mark & Graham carry-on everywhere. For such a lightweight, tiny suitcase–it holds everything I need without allowing me to pack too much. Even though these suitcases have been around for a while, they’re unique enough that they always get a smile at the airport. And any marks on its cute exterior can be easily wiped away with a magic eraser.

Quilted carryon: Finding a second bag to travel with that carries my makeup, chargers, etc. has been a work in progress. Then a couple of years ago, I found this large Metro Tote from MZ Wallace and it has been the best. It’s lightweight but durable, has several pockets, and zips shut at the top–which I think is so important when traveling. It comes in a couple of different sizes but I’ve liked this large one the best.

Comfy jeans: I storied these jeans from J. McLaughlin last week as my new favorite. They are so stretchy, high-waisted, and have cute gold buttons in the front. Later this spring, they’ll also be available in white. And sorry millennials, these are skinny jeans, but they don’t make those who wear them look old! (I wear a size 8 for size comparison.)

Striped sweater: Striped sweaters make everything better–I’ve done the homework. I love this easy layer from J.Crew. (Wearing a medium.)

White blazer: I love a good blazer when I travel as a versatile layer (chilly plane rides or cool nights on vacay). I usually go with my classic navy one, but white is so cute for spring and summer. This tweedy one from Ann Taylor is just perfect! (Wearing a size 6.)

Cute tennis shoes: I think quarantine ruined me for real shoes as tennies have become my go-to. Depending on where you go through airplane security, it may be a little bit of a pain to slip these Tretorns off. But, once your passed that hurdle, your feet will thank you.

Raleigh Bird tote: I take this Raleigh Bird tote everywhere–it’s even been on an airplane or two. People have asked me if it’s tough to keep clean, and it isn’t at all. In fact, I recently spilled a little coffee on it and it wiped completely clean with a little water and Oxyclean. Love it!

I hope this post puts you in the mood for a little spring break fun!
