It sounds like the kitchen is where most of us are spending good parts of our days as we try to start the new year off on the right foot. I’ve had a number of people ask me for my favorite cookbooks. But the truth is, I mostly get my recipes online from bloggers and foodies I trust. So here’s a roundup of my go-to for recipes my family likes.
A Life from Scratch: I think I make a Courtney Holsworth recipe at least once a week, if not more! Courtney, a married mom to three from Barrington has been documenting her simple family meals for years. What I love about her recipes is that they tend to be on the healthier side and they only use a very few ingredients. This one, this one, and this one have been a hit at dinnertime in our house. If you don’t already follow her, I definitely would. She’s also a master at simplifying your home and organizing your space.
Hello Adams Family: I think Liz Adams from Hello Adams Family was one of the very first influencers I ever followed. She’s originally from Hinsdale but moved to Charleston last year with her young family. I love Liz because she is all about balance and often finds a good happy medium between healthy and comfort foods. I also know that she has to feed little people who can be picky, so if the recipes get by them–I’m probably in good shape. I recently made this dinner of hers and my crew loved it.
Pure Joy Home: Another young mom, Liz Joy has been blogging for more than a decade and lives with her young family on the East Coast. She’s another one who has to please a number of opinionated palettes (ha!) and her Butternut Squash, Sausage, & Kale Pasta is one I make on repeat over here.
Living With Landyn: I love Landyn Hutchinson! Blogging from her home in Nashville, she just finds the fun in everything–even her cooking! Many of the things I make for holiday brunches come from her. They’re a little more indulgent but always delicious. This Chocolate Chip Croissant Bake is the best for something special on the weekends.
Half Baked Harvest: Half Baked Harvest is on my Top 10 favorite accounts to follow on Instagram. Tieghan Gerard is the brains behind this operation and her recipes always say “home” to me. Even if you’re not a cook, you’ll just feel inspired by her incredible creations.
I hope this list helps you find your way out of a cooking rut if you happen to find yourself in one. I would love to know what your go-tos are.
