About

hello.

I’M ANN MARIE SCHEIDLER!

Born and raised on the North Shore of Chicago, I’ve always had a genuine love and curiosity for people and their stories. As far back as the eighth grade, I remember wanting to grow up and be the next Barbara Walters.

I studied journalism at the University of Notre Dame (go Irish!) and entered the job market when news careers were hard to come by. After a decade in advertising and communications consulting, I rediscovered my love for storytelling working for Chicago’s leading luxury lifestyle publishers both as a writer and an editor. These assignments took me around the world and connected me to some of the most fascinating people I ever met.

As much as I loved my roles in magazine writing, I could never shake the idea that I wanted to build something of my own. That’s why in 2018, I launched my blog. AnnMarieScheidler.com lets me dive deeper into the things I find most interesting and share from a perspective of a slightly more seasoned blogger. My promise is to always share content that is true to me.

If you would like to work together, I welcome the chance to speak with you. Here’s a little bit more about me.

Somewhere along the way, the tables turned.

After you all loved Annie’s overnight oats, I figured it was time to share another one of her go-to recipes. These protein muffins are a favorite of all those lucky enough to live with Annie. Here’s how she makes them:

2 ripe bananas
3/4 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
2 eggs
1 tablespoon peanut butter
2 tablespoons almond milk
1 1/2 cups oat flour (Annie made her own in this reel)
1/2 cup vanilla protein powder (we love @fieldsgreat )
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup chocolate chips
A pinch of salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350. Mix all ingredients together and put in muffin tins. Bake for 20 minutes.

1 batch makes 12 muffins; each has 180 calories, 8g protein, 23g carbs, 7g fat, 3-4g fiber. 😋

I’ve realized the outfits I wear the most are neve I’ve realized the outfits I wear the most are never the complicated ones. They’re the ones I can throw on without thinking that still feel like me.

A navy tee. White denim. A few colorful accessories.

This is my summer uniform. It’s simple, comfortable, and somehow it always works.

Tell me…do you have a summer uniform too? I’d love to know what you’re reaching for on repeat!

You know how kids are supposed to learn from their You know how kids are supposed to learn from their parents?

Lately, I feel like it’s been the opposite.

This summer Annie has been working as a medical tech in a local physician’s office, and every evening when she gets home, the first thing she does is prep breakfast and lunch for the next day.

These overnight oats are her daily obsession. She genuinely looks forward to waking up just so she can eat them. 😂

They’re packed with protein and fiber, come in at under 400 calories, and are surprisingly delicious. (I’ve also learned that if you make them pretty, they somehow taste even better.)

Here’s her recipe:

✨ 1/3 cup rolled oats
✨ 1 scoop Field’s Great Vanilla Protein Powder
✨ 1 tablespoon chia seeds
✨ 1/2 cup Fage 0% Greek yogurt
✨ 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
✨ Cinnamon (don’t be shy!)
✨ 1/2 banana, sliced
✨ A handful of berries
✨ A drizzle of honey

Mix the first six ingredients, top with fruit, drizzle with honey, and refrigerate overnight. Annie likes to set hers on the kitchen table before her workout in the morning so it’s the perfect temperature when it’s time to eat.

Save this recipe if you’re looking for an easy, protein-packed breakfast you’ll actually be excited to wake up for. ✨

This is the current state of our family room and i This is the current state of our family room and it makes me so happy!

With the help of my friend Kristi (and a little input from ChatGPT 😉), we were able to update our family room without a big renovation. Just a few new pillows, a couple of lamps, clearing some clutter, and some thoughtful styling.

It’s amazing how the smallest updates can completely change the feel of a room. This space has seen countless movie nights, football games, and kids piled on the couches, and I still love that it’s where everyone gathers when we’re all at home. While I know we still need to update the shelves, style under the TV, and replace the sofas—this will do for now. In fact, it will more than do!!

Just a little reminder that you don’t always have to start from scratch. Sometimes a few simple changes are all it takes to make a room feel fresh again.

Lately, I’ve been loving @motherroot with @fevertree_usa Club Soda, lots of ice, and a little lemon and rosemary. If you like a non-alcohol drink with some spice, this is for you! Fresh, delicious, and perfect for summer. ☀️

I’ll link in stories where you can find this terrific mixer!
