Even with all of my mask-wearing, I can’t give up putting on my lipstick every day. And fall is one of the best seasons to be a lip color lover!
During quarantine, with a little more time on my hands, I did a couple of deep dives into some clean beauty brands. And clean product that was hard for me to find was a good lipstick that stays on all day. But that all ended when I discovered Bite Beauty.
Bite Beauty is a clean, vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free makeup brand. They have proven that you don’t have to sacrifice being clean to be high performing. Their line of matte crayon lipsticks can’t be beat. (I think it’s misleading to call them “matte” because, in my mind, that’s a flat finish and there is definitely some shine to these!) These matte crayons are super moisturizing, don’t bleed outside the lip line, and truly stay on all day. I also think they’re competitively priced for such a great product. You can buy them directly from Bite Beauty or at Sephora.
Here is a round up of my five favorite Bite Beauty lip colors for fall. (Forgive the selfies, but I always think it helps to see a color on someone to see how it looks.)
Calvados: Every now and then, even I want to wear a color that’s a little more natural. Most nude colors make me look washed out, so I need to find something with a little more depth. Bite Beauty’s Calvados is a nudey, bronzy brown. It gives me color but is still very subtle. This is great for every day.
Nonino: This might be my favorite color for every day. It’s a muddy, plummy pink that’s very fresh and hits all of the right notes. Love!
Negroni: This is my must-have red for going into the holidays. It’s bright with orange and blue tones…I think it’s perfect! I love it every bit as much as Nars Famous Red (I wrote a post about great red lipsticks last year), but Bite Beauty’s Negroni is clean (meaning no toxins!). This will make any look festive.
Red Velvet: I always like to have a deep red in my rotation, and Red Velvet fits that bill. It’s dark and grounded, not bright like Negroni. Red Velvet is great for a night out, but I have a hunch I’ll pull it out more often when my black turtleneck sweaters are being worn on the regular.
Brandy: Like Red Velvet, Brandy is a great deep, dark color for fall. While Red Velvet is in the red family, Brandy picks up the plums. If you’re a lipstick gal like me, Brandy definitely will make an appearance during the daytime, but it’s a really great color for an evening out.
What do you think? Are you going to sport one of these colors under your mask? If you do, please let me know!

Like all but the first one. You look good in bright colors.
Thanks, Lynn! I think so, too!
