Our Return Trip to Madrid

To say I have a few balls up in the air this month might be a little bit of an understatement. But isn’t that all moms most of the time?

It’s looking more and more like our daughter Grace is going to stay in Europe for the time being. And as sad as I am to have her so far away, I am here for the adventure! Since traveling to London over Christmas, she has decided that’s where she’ll call home come fall—making it very necessary for us to get over and see her life in Spain before she moves on to her next post!

So we’re heading to Madrid on Thursday and Grace has a jam-packed itinerary for our four-day visit that I promise to share once we get home. It will be so different this time because Grace really has made Madrid her home and will have so much to show us. The weather should be a little more spring-like than here, with most days in the 50s—so I will be breaking out my spring clothes. Here’s what I plan to bring.

I am clearly a girl who likes what she likes. Give me a stripe, a crewneck and a comfy tennis shoe and I am good to go. These pieces will take me from spring in Madrid until summer in Lake Forest. Many of the J.Crew items are on sale.

Striped cardigan (this runs a little small—I would size up.)

Navy sweater

Ivory bracelets

Trench coat (My trench coat is a couple of years old from J.Crew, but this one is so much better because it has a hood!)

Pink sweater

Ivory lady jacket

White blouse

Scarf

Tan cardigan

Striped crewneck

Striped tee

Wide-leg denim

Green tote (This tote is a newer version of the one I bought after Christmas for under $200. If you can wait, I’m sure this bag will come on sale. But I’m loving all of the green that I’m seeing this season.)

Wide-leg navy pant

Pajamas (Don’t forget that the code ANNMARIE at checkout will get you 15% off your purchase.)

Navy-white sneakers

White sneakers

Chanel flats: These flats are 10 years old and an absolute treasure of mine. But here is a brand that is a great look-alike and incredibly comfortable.
