It cracks me up that this picture was taken less than a month ago and the snow brought a swift end to my fall flowers and pumpkins. But luckily this week, we’ve gotten a slight reprieve from the really cold temps where we can sport my favorite wardrobe staple–sweaters!
When J.Crew closed in Market Square last month, a lot of my very funny friends asked how I was going to survive without my go-to clothing destination just a few minutes away. But lucky for locals, we have loads of options to keep us warm this season. Here are just a few I found nearby.
Share in Wilmette
This fall, I stumbled upon an amazing store in Wilmette called Share. Owned by Karen O’Sullivan, she is routinely freshening her store with new fashion and home decor items that are all incredibly well priced. I picked up this sweater a month ago and have absolutely loved it.
Valentina in Lake Forest, Winnetka, and Glencoe
How cute is this cozy cashmere number from Valentina? Talk about a statement! (I think this sweater has my name all over it!) There are so many sweaters to choose from, including some fleece-lined cardigans from Ugg.
Lillie Alexander Ltd. in Lake Forest
Whether you love colors or neutrals, Lillie Alexander Ltd. has you cutely covered with sweaters from ALC Cashmere, Mother, and Theory.
The Lake Forest Shop in Lake Forest
And if you’re looking for a classic layer piece, look no further than The Lake Forest Shop.
And while I’ve only listed a handful of fun places to shop for sweaters, there are so many more! Don’t forget to pop into The Dailey Method Lake Forest, Forest Bootery, EverEve, Alixandra’s Collections, Talbots, Sara Campbell, and Frances Heffernan to name a few. Let’s all think about different ways to support our local retailers this holiday season. They work so hard to have what we love. Shopping with them is a win-win for all of us!
