The Eye Creams I Actually Think Are Worth It

Four favorites at four very different price points

Over the weekend, my mom, sister, and I ended up talking about the costs of eye creams . Specifically: why does one tiny jar cost $52 while another costs nearly $200? And honestly? It’s a fair question.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if there were some giant master spreadsheet explaining exactly why certain skincare products cost more than others? Like a chart breaking down ingredients, technology, research, packaging, marketing, and whether or not we’re all just paying for a very chic jar.

Unfortunately, I can’t provide that spreadsheet. But what I can do is share four eye creams I genuinely love at very different price points—and explain why I think each one earns its place. I must tell you that I have been gifted these four products, but I would 100% rebuy each of these with my own money. They are all that good.

Here are the four eye creams currently in my rotation:

NakedBeautyMD Biopeptide Growth Factor Eye Therapy: This is definitely my splurge eye cream, but wow…it’s good! Created by Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Cat Chang, this formula blends peptides, growth factors, and collagen-supporting ingredients designed to target fine lines, elasticity, hydration, and overall skin rejuvenation. What I notice most with this one is how smoothing it is–almost like glass, without feeling heavy or greasy. It also layers beautifully under makeup, which matters to me because there is nothing worse than concealer separating halfway through the day. If your biggest concerns are crepey skin, fine lines, and overall aging around the eyes, this one really feels like a treatment product rather than just a moisturizer. Cost: $180

U Beauty The Return Eye Concentrate: This one is probably the prettiest finish of the four. U Beauty describes it as giving a “photoluminescent glow,” which sounds slightly dramatic until you put it on and realize…they’re kind of right. This formula targets dark circles, puffiness, discoloration, and fine lines, but what I love most is how bright and refreshed it makes the under-eye area look immediately. It gives that soft-focus effect where you look more awake even before makeup. Cost: $148, first-time buyers can use code ANNMARIE20 for 20% off (So grateful to U Beauty for giving me a code!)

Kiehl’s Multi-Corrective Eye Zone Treatment: This is the “middle ground” option that really overdelivers for the price. Powered by niacinamide and collagen peptides, Kiehl’s designed this treatment to target all four eye zones: brow bone, eyelid, crow’s feet, and under-eye puffiness. I love the texture of this one. It’s lightweight, absorbs quickly, and plays very nicely with makeup. It feels refreshing going on and gives just enough hydration without being slippery. Cost: $85

InnBeauty Project Extreme Cream Eye: And now for the budget-friendly surprise. This eye cream has developed a bit of a cult following recently, and I completely understand why. It targets lifting, contouring, puffiness, and deep wrinkles while still being gentle enough for sensitive skin and contact lens wearers. The texture is richer than the Kiehl’s but still wears beautifully under makeup. I especially like this one at night because it feels deeply hydrating without irritating my eyes. Cost: $52

So…Do You Need the $180 Eye Cream?

      Honestly? Maybe not.

I think skincare is a little like handbags or mattresses or hotel rooms. There can be a noticeable difference at higher price points, but there’s also a point where personal preference becomes part of the equation. Some people will absolutely love the luxury formulas and feel they’re worth every penny. Others may prefer a simpler routine with products that still perform beautifully. The good news is there are genuinely excellent options now at almost every price point.

      xo,
