A Christmas Belly Button

Hi friends. If you’re anything like me, today is a sprint to the finish for your holiday plans so I knew whatever I shared recipe-wise had to be super easy…and fun!

Last week, I had a few girlfriends over for a holiday lunch. While I thought about making something festive for dessert, I knew the reality that most of my friends don’t eat many sweets. So I decided to simply put out a bowl of my friend Kristen Weisberg’s delicious toffee and a bowl of these Christmas belly buttons.

To my delight, my friends had never seen these belly buttons before and were sweetly impressed. It made me think that there still might be a few more folks out there who haven’t yet tried this kid-friendly recipe that is wonderful to have in the house over the holidays for a last-minute snack or dessert.

  • 1 bag of round pretzels (these waffle butter pretzels from Utz were perfect!)
  • 1 bag of Hershey’s Hugs
  • 1 bag of mint M&Ms

Preheat oven to 250. Place round pretzels flat on a greased or foil-lined cookie sheet. Place one unwrapped Hershey’s Hug in the center of each pretzel. Place cookie sheet in oven and bake until the Hugs soften, about 10 minutes. (You definitely want to keep an eye on these so they don’t over cook.) Remove from the oven and place one M&M on each Hug. Then, place in the refrigerator until set, about one hour.

Enjoy! Merry merry to all!
