Friday Favorites 2026, Vol. 1

Happy Friday, friends. We made it through the first week of 2026! It still feels a little like vacation around here, since Leo and Annie are home until Sunday. I’m going to miss them so much when they head back, but I’m also ready to lock in a routine again (and dramatically reduce the amount of laundry happening in this house).

I’ve officially imposed a no-shop January on myself, with a fewexceptions. Anything health and wellness–related (skincare included) is okay to buy. But everything else is off the table. I’m keeping a running list of things I see and quietly placing them in my cart. At the end of the month, I’ll take a second look and decide what’s truly worth bringing home. I will share the best of these items as I spot them.

I’ve also been saving a handful of home finds because I’m feeling very ready to update our family room. The last time we made changes to that space, Grace was in 8th grade—which honestly feels like a lifetime ago considering that she’s all grown up and living in London. It has served us well and truly stood the test of time. When we originally redid the room, it all started with two lamps I found at a local consignment store, and the rest evolved from there.

Now I think it’s time for a refresh. New lamps, a few updated accent pillows, maybe a new coffee table, fresh area rugs…possibly some restyling of the shelves in that room? Lots of ideas swirling. I’ve given myself Jimmy’s June graduation as a loose deadline to finish this little project—no pressure, but a nice goal to have on the horizon.

Below, I’m sharing some of my family room inspiration, along with a few other things that caught my eye this week. Happy first Friday Favorites of 2026! 🤍

  • Serena & Lily throw pillows: I forgot how much I love this store! It’s very much my “coastal” vibe and I get so much inspiration whenever I’m on their website. I love this, this, and this pillow and they are all on sale. They are having a 20% off everything in store. So much to think about!
  • Resort tote: I have loved my suede Tory Burch Large Romy Bucket Bag this winter and was thrilled to see if they have such a pretty white one for spring. What do you think?
  • Lighting: My family room project started more than a decade a go with a pair of green lamps I fell in love with. I love the soft hue and shape of this lamp from Ballard. (And the price is pretty great, too!)
  • Walking shoes: I just bought my third pair of these Hokas. They are surprisingly light for the amount of support they give. 10/10 recommend!
  • Dry skin duo: I keep talking about this magic potion, but there is nothing better for your dry skin that the Glycolic Acid from The Ordinary and the Creme de Corps from Kiehl’s. My friends have said that the Glycolic Acid is the real difference maker, but this lotion is like no other I’ve ever used (and I feel like I’ve tried them all)! It’s unscented and ungreasy. You can use all over your body (just not your face!). Your skin will thank you!

Also, did you know that I have a Substack? This is a free newsletter that can be delivered right to your inbox. I usually dive a little deeper and more personal in these longer form pieces–I’d love for you to be a part of it. You can subscribe by going to the homepage of my blog.

Have a great weekend! And go Hoosiers!

xo,
