Happy Friday! And now… happy Saturday! It’s been one of those weeks. I’ve been getting so much done, but my days are starting to run into each other.
This week has been all about crossing t’s and dotting i’s. I submitted my last three magazine stories for 2025, and that felt really good. By next Sunday, all of my kids will be home, and my goal is simple: clear the calendar and enjoy them.
We’re not heading to a bowl game this holiday, so I’m still figuring out a few fun things to do around home—but having extra time is never a bad thing.
How are you doing with holiday plans? Shopping and meal prep under control? Let me know if there’s anything I can help with.
I’m always amazed that my busiest weeks tend to spark the most creativity. Maybe it’s adrenaline. Maybe it’s denial. Either way, putting together this week’s Friday Favorites was especially fun. Let’s get into it!
Holiday book: Earlier I shared how much I loved reading One Day in December during the Christmas break last year. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend–just a sweet escape! My friend Katie at Beach Reads & Bubbly suggested Grace & Henry’s Holiday Movie Marathon to scratch that itch this year. The best part is that the protagonist is 35+!
Sephora sale: I popped by Sephora this week and they are having a 20% off of your total purchase from now through Sunday, December 14 both in store and online (with the code SAVEGIFTS). Some new products that I’ve added to my night time routine that I’ve been loving are this Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Serum and this Caudalie Anti-Aging Cream. So hydrating and a nice step up in the moisture department from what I was doing in the warmer months.
Black turtlenecks: I posted this little reel wearing a favorite J.Crew turtleneck and a few asked about it. Love this one and this one. Both run true to size!
Cutest holiday blouse: I can’t say enough about these KMJ blouses. I have a few in my closet, but this holiday one steals the show! And, it’s 25% off! I find that they run true to size.
The best tea: Recently, I‘ve had a couple of meetings at Lake Bluff’s Hansa Coffee Roasters and opted to have their Ginger Tumeric tea. It’s delicious! You can buy the loose tea in store and online (just make sure you have an infuser like this one if you do). I’m pretty sure this tea is decaf, but don’t quote me on that. I will ask the next time I’m there! Also, if you’re in store, their cranberry-orange scones are to die for!
Corduroy vest: I wore this to meet a friend for coffee this week and I felt so cute. I styled it just as they have on Boden’s website with a white blouse and jeans. I loved it! And, it’s reversible with a cute fleece leopard print on the opposite side.
Are these a crazy gift idea or a genius one? I never know what to get Ed for Christmas. Maybe this is a great idea or maybe this is a new low, but I’m thinking these heated slippers could be a winner?!
Cozy soup: I made this chicken wild rice soup last week and it was so yummy and simple to make. I took one short cut–I shredded a rotisserie chicken and it didn’t take away from final product at all. Great dinner idea if you have a full house over Christmas!
I have to post this before it’s Friday Favorites on a Sunday! Ha! Have a great weekend!
xo,
