Fridays With Ann Marie

We made it! It’s a summer Friday in Chicago and the sun is shining. What’s not to love? I thought it would be fun to end this week with a recap of some of the questions you’ve sent my way. Here’s the scoop.

How far are you running this week?

This is Week 6 of marathon training and I ran two 3-mile runs and one 5-miler. I only have 7 miles to run this weekend after doing 10 last Sunday. The little fall back in this week’s training plan is so nice!

Favorite nail color?

I love the no-chip nail color Lobster Roll by CND. I can usually get almost three weeks from a manicure with this color and it just says summer to me (although I have been known to wear it in December too!).

Favorite lipstick?

You may notice a theme here. I’m loving coral these days and there is no better shade than Bobbi Brown’s Pink Guava.

What are you reading right now?

I’m just about finished with Renee Rosen’s Park Avenue Summer. It’s so good! This is a perfect breezy novel for July and it’s also my first book pick for M&P Reads, our new online book club. I interviewed Renee yesterday for my recap about the book that will go live on July 30. She plans to chime in on any questions or comments you make on Instagram or Facebook that day. I can’t wait! If you’d like to join us, there’s still time to squeeze in this great read and the Lake Forest Book Store still has plenty of copies on hand.

What’s your favorite podcast?

I’ve made no secret about my “Scheidler Shuttle” service this summer. I spend so much time in my car getting my kids to where they need to go that I’ve turned to some podcasts and Audible books to pass the time. This week, I’m loving the podcast “Stuff You Should Know” with hosts Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant. They talk about anything and everything from “How Going to the Moon Works” to what prisoners eat in jail. (Crazy!) This week, I listened to a two-parter about the Tylenol murders, a real-life story that took place in Chicago in the 1980s. I remember hearing about it when I was in grade school but I didn’t know any of the details. This. Was. Fascinating! A huge thanks to my daughter Grace who turned me on to this podcast, as well as suggesting that we go see their live show in Chicago next week.

I hope you thought this was fun. Have a super weekend!
