Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends. We have had a good week over here. I think everyone is settling into their back-to-school, back-to-work routines. And I was super excited to finally book tickets to see my girl Grace in Madrid. Grace is loving Spain so much that she has decided to make Europe her long-term home—with plans to either work or go to graduate school in London. I’ve had lots of people ask me how I feel about this and I’m truly so happy that she has chosen this adventure. The only hard part is that it’s not easy to get to her—the airlines have made it very expensive. But with a little figuring and cashing in a whole lot of miles, I’m heading to see her in March and I just can’t wait.

Until then, I’ve been making lots of lists—one being a few of my favorite things from the last week. Let’s do this!

Give me all of the blue and white: It’s definitely too early to be thinking about spring but these blue and white lady jackets are making me want to fast forward through the calendar. This one from Boden and this one from J. Crew are so darn cute.

Daily Rituals: I continue to be amazed at how much I learn from the younger influencers out in the world. Last week, one of my favorites—Liz Adams—wrote about her daily rituals (linking it here). It was such a good reminder that the things we do for others and ourselves don’t have to be big and grand. It’s the consistency of those little things that make a big difference. I have a little post about this planned for later this weekend, but Liz’s words really got me thinking.

The perfect white tee: I am always on the hunt for a great white crewneck and found this one on Amazon for $20. I just ordered a second one. It’s pretty true to size (I wear a medium.).

Winter skin refresh: Yesterday, I shared that I had the BBL and MOXI treatments done at Lake Forest’s Erase Medispa (link posted here and a few more details about MOXI here). These were such a great reset for my skin, especially since I feel like it’s been looking really tired lately. Additionally, I’ve been playing with some fun skincare products at home and have been really loving this, this, and this.

Trader Joe’s tulips: Another great way to just get a little hit of spring is to pick up some of the gorgeous tulips that Trader Joe’s seems to have a plenty. You get two dozen in a bunch for $12-$15 and they last forever. It’s definitely worth treating yourself.

Be your Valentine: The amazing Shannon Buth has the sweetest red sweatshirt available on her website House of Shan that is just perfect for Valentine’s Day next week. A portion from each purchase gets donated back to a charity she selects each month and it should come as no surprise that this month is devoted to the Children’s Heart Foundation. So much to feel good about!

The perfect dress: Last year, my personal favorite dress of the year was the Somerset silhouette from Anthropologie. I knew I loved it, but it wasn’t until my daughter did a photo collage for me on my birthday and I saw that I was wearing it in four different pictures (on four different occasions…ha!). Anyway, I saw that they have introduced a bunch of new fabric styles for the Somerset and I may or may not have bought this one for spring break. They are also offering this Somerset jumpsuit that is pretty cute, too

I think that’s all I have for this week. I’m off to help with set up for our local PADs shelter and then on to a freshmen basketball game and senior night for my son’s former teammates. The time goes so fast!

Have a great weekend!
