Two weeks from today, I will be waking up in Madrid. As many of you know, I will be “dropping off” my daughter Grace in Spain later this month where she’ll spend the next year teaching English in one of their elementary schools. In January, she called home and asked my husband and I if she could figure out a way to cover her expenses, could she go and live in Spain. Her semester abroad had been cancelled twice because of Covid, so we thought this was a genius idea of hers to go and get this experience. Oh to be 22 again!
Anyway, while my focus is mostly on what Grace will be packing for her time away, I’ve had a thought or two about what will be going in my carryon (shocking I know!). Grace told me that in Madrid you “dress for the season, not the weather.” So when I found this navy silk (feels like cotton) dress from J. McLaughlin — it was a no-brainer that it was coming with me! It will be great for Spain and even better as we transition from summer to fall. And my Deseda “Pictures of You” scarf is the perfect finishing touch as a belt for this look.
Any other suggestions for what we should pack for Madrid?
