Friday Favorites

Happy FRIDAY! Today has just been the prettiest day. I’m hoping it holds all weekend, especially for our prom goers tomorrow night.

I have lots of fun things to share with you today, so let’s get to it!

Lake Forest Showhouse & Gardens: The Lake Forest Showhouse officially opens tomorrow and it’s fantastic! I had a preview this week and can’t stop thinking about it. I think I say that every showhouse is my favorite showhouse, but this one may actually be my favorite! There’s something about this house in particular and how all of the rooms seem to play off of each other, that has had me thinking about it since I left. I’ll go into a lot more detail tomorrow, but make sure to look up on every space you visit. This is the year of the ceiling! The Showhouse is open through June 4. Don’t wait to buy your tickets!

This shirtdress: This is a good one! I saw this cotton shirt dress in the prettiest coral color on J. McLaughlin’s instagram last week and knew it had to be mine. I will be wearing it on repeat all summer.

Graduation banners: I shared this week that I hung some graduation banners from my house and there were lots of questions about them. I’m still trying to figure out the best way to display them from the second floor of my house, but they are a fun and easy way to celebrate the graduates in our house. I bought these on Shutterfly because I was worried I was late in the game to be ordering them. (They’re on sale right now for $20.) But I also know our local Postnet would also do an amazing job.

The Coronation: Anyone else waking up at 5 a.m. to watch the coverage of King Charles’ coronation tomorrow? I probably won’t get up that early, but I will be checking the posts from the best royal correspondent, Elizabeth Holmes, as soon as I wake up. And I have it on good authority that Bent Fork Bakery has the perfect “coronation cookies” if you’re looking for the perfect snack for your royal viewing.

Strength training: For the last two weeks, I have been working out with Scott Zimay and Mary Mick at Marshall’s 584 in Lake Forest. They specialize in the super slow method of training. In 30-minute training sessions, they walk me through a full-body, low-impact workout. The goal is for me to gain lean muscle over time, by increasing the amount of weight resistance with each workout. These workouts are great for everyone, but especially women my age. Here is the post I wrote with all of the details about these workouts. I also shared this reel on Instagram that gives you a little peek at what these workouts look like.

A little inspiration going into summer: My good friend Rebecca Asfour recommended this book–The Fun Habit: How the Pursuit of Joy and Wonder Can Change Your Life–this week and I ran out and bought it. I’ll keep you posted on how it goes but I love the message.

Have a super weekend!
