Happy happy Friday! And happy homecoming! It has been a busy week! Our high school has so many traditions around homecoming that makes it so special for all involved. While it can be a little exhausting, it’s all worth it. And fingers crossed, all of the hype will bring our Scouts a win tonight!
I’m a little rusty at these Friday Favorites…it’s been a while! But I have a big list I want to share with you so let’s do this!
Give me all the cute fall dresses: This is the first week in a while that I’ve had to dress up a bit for things I have going on. I have to be honest. I didn’t do much shopping this summer, so it’s been fun to look for a few things to get through these warmer fall days. I’m absolutely crazy about some dresses I’ve seen–especially this one, this one, and this one. I’m wearing a medium in all three. I also ordered this one for a fun pop of color.
Two skincare products I’m loving: Lately, my skin doesn’t know if it should be dry or oily! To help, I went to see Kara at Dr. Terrasse’s office for a dermaplaning and an Algo mask and it was the nicest reset. If you’ve never had a dermaplaning, do it! In less than an hour with no downtime, you will leave with the freshest looking skin. (If want to know a little more about dermaplaning, here’s a little story I wrote about that.) Before I left Dr. Terrasse’s, Kara told me to try Skinmedica’s new HA5 formula that now has collagen. It’s wonderful! I use this at night before I go to bed. Then during the daytime, I use this product that is new to me from InnBeauty Project called Extreme Cream. It’s great under makeup and gives your skin a really nice dewy finish.
Some new fall sneakers: I’m not sure I will ever be able to wear real shoes again. I love sneakers with everything! This fall, I’m a little obsessed with these taupe-colored Spezials (order a 1/2 size down) and these cute retro sneaks also from Adidas (true to size).
Fall lip color: I’m really obsessing over these matte crayon lipsticks from Thrive. This “Linda” shade will be worn on repeat all fall.
Cute crossbody: Naghedi never gets it wrong. I love the wearability of their bags and how I can just throw them in the washing machine if they ever get dirty. This one in “mink” just says fall!
Trader Joe’s pumpkin delicousness: I swear Trader Joe’s knows just how to make fall, whatever the weather, taste like fall. They have all of their pumpkin favorites back in stock but their Chocolate Mousse Pumpkins are absolutely a reason to make a trip to their store.
Two great podcasts: I’ve had lots of time in the car lately so that means lots of podcast listening for me. I have been on a big Katie Couric kick lately and her two recent episodes with Hillary Clinton (regardless of your politics) were fascinating. Additionally, my beloved Two Gomers did a podcast on the “Empty Nest.” It was a tear-jerker, but so insightful. They described the empty nest as a perfect mix of panic and freedom. I so felt this! If you’re a new empty nester or on the brink, this episode is for you!
Bingeworthy: Last week, I watched Perfect Couple and Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. Talk about programs on opposite ends of the spectrum! Perfect Couple is light and campy and Monsters is very dark. Both are equally entertaining if you’re looking for some good television. Next up and I can hardly wait to watch is Will & Harper, a new documentary starring Will Ferrell who takes a road trip with one of his closest friends who experiences a big life change.
I think that’s it for this week. I’m looking forward to cleaning out some closets this weekend, watching some great football, and chaperoning Homecoming fun. All good stuff!
Happy weekend! It’s good to be writing to you again.
