Friday Favorites on a Saturday

All right, friends. Apparently my “Friday Favorites on a Saturday” is my August series! I’m not sure what I was thinking yesterday but I took two workout classes (yoga + barre) and then couldn’t pass up a 4-mile walk with Annie. By the time I got home, my brain was mush. So I decided it would be better for all of us to push writing my post our just a day. I think it was the right call! With a clear, rested head–I have a fun list of faves to share with you today!

Greg’s Frozen Custard: I’m soaking up all of the time I can with my Annie before she heads out for her junior year in two weeks. And if that means having ice cream in the middle of the week with my girl, you bet I’m in! We ventured out to Greg’s Frozen Custard in Mundelein and it was such a treat. Annie gave it a 10/10 for their topping selection and I thought their flavor of the day–Snickers–was delish!

Hokas: Life’s all about balance. So if I’m eating ice cream on a Wednesday, I better still be getting my steps in. My walking shoes needed to be replaced and I ordered a new pair of Hokas and I’m totally in love. They are so lightweight, but still feel super supportive. Love this colorway, too (rose cream/alabaster).

Iced Matcha Protein Latte: This recipe has been so popular this week! I shared that I started adding some vanilla protein to my favorite matcha and it’s been a winner! I actually look forward to it every day and it clocks in at 39 grams of protein and less than 200 calories. Instead of making a second cup of coffee post workout, I’m having this and it hits the spot!

American Prince JFK, Jr.: CNN is launching a three-part series tonight (August 9) about my favorite Kennedy, JFK Jr. American Prince: JFK Jr. traces Kennedy’s early years, marked by his father’s assassination and the pressures to carry the Kennedy torch. I will be tuning in for sure!

Summer-to-fall pieces: My sisters and I have our big trip with our parents coming up to celebrate their 80th birthday, and we’ve all been doing a little shopping. The weather is going to feel like early fall where we’re going so it’s been a good excuse to get a few transitional pieces. Here’s what I’ve gotten: this blazer (it’s almost 50% off), this vest and this vest, and this cutie blouse. I’m wearing a size 8 in all!

ND Mom Dress: I love this shirt dress for a game day at Notre Dame this fall, move-in, or orientation. It’s a great alternative to shorts. It’s not quite as green as it looks on the website–think more emerald than kelly green–but still so cute!

Air-fryer salmon recipe: I made this salmon recipe this week and it literally took 15 minutes from start to finish. So good!

Summer makeup: I know we’re closing in on the end of the season, but my summer makeup routine is going strong. This week I did an Instagram reel showing you how I use the products and then recapped it all on my blog. Let me know if you decide to try any of this!

College Move-in Tips: Speaking of IG posts, I also wrote about all the things I’ve learned over the years to make college move-in a little easier. I hope these were helpful. In the post, I mentioned bringing cleaning supplies but I forgot to mention a toolkit. This is a MUST! Thanks to my high school friend, Sally, for reminding me!

That’s all for now! Enjoy your weekend!
